Our Client Processes

The Interim Process is described in the following simple steps:

  • Leaders For Today conducts an intake conversation with our client contact and we look for the following information:
  • Job description
  • Organizational chart
  • Title and person whom the position reports to
  • Location/building to report to
  • Special skills or circumstances, e.g. merger, new building, union, JCAHO visit pending/actions, CMS, serious patient events etc.
  • How the interview process will evolve and whether phone or face interviews (or both are required)
  • Ideal start date
  • Why the position is vacant
  • Special licenses, certifications etc. required
  • Deliverables-items you want achieved or framework begun on
  • Interim to permanent hire possibilities
  • Current salary for the position on a permanent basis

Our contracts are written is simple understandable language and assignments are on average 4-6 months in duration. That said, all of our contracts give our clients a 30 day out clause (in case a permanent candidate is identified, the project is completed early, financial cutbacks, etc.). We contract with our interim professionals directly and handle all of the on-boarding (background checks, OIG, reference checks, educational verification and payroll), as well as any Human Resource responsibilities.

The Interim to Permanent Conversion is allowed for within the interim contract, as on average, 38% of our interims become the best fit for the position and ultimately become the permanent choice for our clients. As a part of our ongoing quality checks, we probe with both our clients and interim professionals as to any interest on either part to enter into discussions around a conversion from interim status to permanent employee.

The Contained Search process differs from the retained search process that you may be accustomed to working with. The client intake and overall process is very similar in that a member of our corporate staff will conduct an intake with the decision maker(s) associated with the direct report for the position in determining the search parameters. A contained search can be conducted simultaneously while the interim search and placement are made if that is your preferred solution. When we do have one of our interim professionals in place, they are often asked to be a member of the search committee and can help to act as an objective party and an expert participant. A contained search is a three part payment of the total fee and is based on one third payment on signing of the search agreement, no payment due upon presentation of candidates, and two thirds payment due on accepted offer by our candidate. This essentially minimizes some of the risks associated with a retained search and ensures that final payment is due only when a placement is made. There is a one year guarantee period whereby Leaders For Today will replace the candidate under certain circumstances.
