Memorial Regional Health seeks a community oriented, visible, Chief Financial Officer who is an expert on revenue cycle to help lead their next chapter of growth, which includes a model where primary care and rural health care clinics are key drivers of revenue and a new Medical Office building construction project will enhance the Hospital’s ability to attract and retain quality physicians, deliver state-of-the-art health care, and meet the future needs of the community it serves. The position has 4 direct reports and 69 indirect reports.

Memorial Regional Health is a regional health system comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Craig, Colorado and is a component unit of Moffat County, Colorado (the County). THE POSITION

Overall financial operations of the healthcare organization including accounting, budgetary, audits, and other financial planning activities within the hospital organization; including management of respective department heads

  • Works with system management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans.
  • Provides financial leadership to hospital managers, directors and officers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participate in decisions that impact the hospital/
  • Ensures the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Contributes financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue
  • Manages costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer
  • Analyzes areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities
  • Represents the hospital at meetings including hospital board of trustee meetings as well as relevant community meetings as needed
  • Participates in the hospital’s operation reviews as well as participating in meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Implements and assist in sustaining best practices for all Revenue Cycle activities in the facility. Work closely with all departments within the Revenue Cycle to insure processes are best practice; develop metrics based on best practice and measure improvement against metrics.
  • Assures compliance with all Federal and State regulations within patient billing.
  • Identifies, collects and reports relevant statistical data to CEO and Executive Team.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Demonstrated track record of increasingly responsible finance leadership roles required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle management required with in house billing experience strongly preferred
  • Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
  • Rural Health Clinic experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Ability to mentor next generation of finance leaders
  • Must live in Moffat County
