This position has become available because the Hospitalist Medical Director and Care Management Medical Director has resigned, effective December 31, 2017.

Overview & Credentialing and Skills Required: To qualify for clinical privileges at Hospital, Board certification in one’s specialty is required within 5 years of completion of residency training. Licensed by NH Board of Medicine as physician (MD or DO).  Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Pediatrics required. Successful completion of ACGME-certified residency program in internal medicine or family practice.  Must possess valid narcotics registration (DEA number).  Minimum of three years of experience as primary care physician, emergency medicine physician, or hospitalist preferred.  Prior experience as a hospitalist strongly preferred, including care of medical patients on med/surg unit and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), familiarity with CAH, collaboration with nursing and Care Management staff, and education of and communication with patients/families.  Eligible for, obtains, and maintains appropriate clinical privileges in internal medicine or family practice as a hospitalist on hospital Medical Staff. Successful administrative and leadership experience in a hospitalist program, medical group, healthcare organization, or hospital medical staff strongly preferred.  Prior success in motivating staff and bringing groups together as effective teams to ensure high quality outcomes, problem resolution, and program development.  Strong organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.  Displays positive, team-oriented attitude and consistently treats other members of health care team respectfully and professionally.  Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, as well as ability to engender respect and trust, with medical, nursing, and administrative staff, patients, and the public.  Ability to negotiate, influence, and navigate in a politically-complex environment.  Ability to work independently. Prior experience supervising physician assistants and/or nurse practitioners preferred. Understanding of health insurance, provider payment methodologies, quality improvement/performance improvement principles, regulatory requirements, care management guidelines, and hospital/specialty physicians practice operations preferred.  Committed to serve as a champion for high quality, patient-centered care in hospitalist model.  Experience in process improvement, project management, and change management desired.

Knowledge of computer programs, applications, and Meditech Health Information System preferred.

6 month engagement, housing and travel provided, opportunity for interim to permanent too
