Health System

A health system in Massachusetts seeks an Interim Vice President, Total Rewards. The Vice President, Total Rewards is a key member of the senior human resources team for the health system and reports directly to the SVP/CHRO. The position is responsible for the effective planning, implementation, and control of all compensation and benefits programs for the system and is accountable for HRMS and HR Core Services.

The VP has responsibility for a departmental staff of 30, managed by three direct reports (Directors of Compensation, Benefits, and HR Core Services/HRMS), and manages a total benefits budget of approximately $100 million. Additionally, the Core Services/HRMS department fields 40,000 calls per year governing the 10,000 employees of the system, and the organization has an annual payroll of more than $600 million.

The ideal candidate has:
– Master’s in HR, business administration, or related subject preferred. CCP or CBP a plus.
– Minimum 8-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience within complex provider organizations.
– Demonstrated record of success developing and managing compensation and benefits programs in a large, complex organization; excellent technical knowledge of compensation practices, incentive plans, and benefits programs.
– Strong financial acumen, with specific knowledge of healthcare compensation and physician compensation practices.
– Strong communication and consultation skills.
– Ability to establish relationships and trust quickly and easily across multiple constituencies (peers, senior leaders, board members, medical staff as well as direct reports).
