Among the duties of the manager of inpatient case manager, this manager’s primary duties are evaluating the performance of staff nurses and social workers in the case management dept, providing feedback and mentoring, developing education programs, contributing to staff professional development, participating in interviewing and hiring staff. Under the direction of the Directors of Care Management, this manager will assist with development of practices that will accomplish the goals of the AGO.

  • BSN required, Master’s Degree preferred, Case Management Certification preferred
  • Licensed to practice nursing or social work in MA
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Case Manager position in an inpatient health care setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations that support and effect development of organizational policies, procedures and standards. Knowledge of and experience with post-acute and community-based services and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing to internal and external constituencies
  • Ability to form positive, collaborative relationships with members of the hospital staff, and payers
  • Ability to problem solve in a proactive, creative manner, using sound judgment based on factual information and clinical knowledge
  • Knowledge of external requirements that impact the department, such as Joint Commission and Department of Public Health
  • Knowledge of information systems to support the evaluation of current capacity as well as future needs
